Colours, fonts and logo
Open Form settings and choose the Appearance tab. The options are on the left, in groups: Layout, Theme, Brand, Colours, Text and Shape. On the right, a preview stays in view as you scroll: the band with your logo and organisation name, the title, a question, Status choices in their label colours, and the button. It follows every option as you change it, fonts, text size and shapes included. Like other settings, the look reaches respondents when you publish.
Themes
The quickest way to a good-looking form is a theme. There are ten, each with its own colours, header band and shapes, all built on the calm, readable style of Jira's forms. Click one under Theme and the form takes it on. Every setting below still works on top of it, so you can change the button colour or the font afterwards; the picker then says, for example, "Started from Warm".
| Theme | The look |
|---|---|
| Classic | Jira's own look: soft blue band, white panel, blue button. Fits any form. |
| Clean | White page, no panel, underlined answers and a black button. Minimal. |
| Warm | Cream and coral with rounded shapes. Friendly, for HR, schools or hospitality. |
| Calm | Sage green and teal. Quiet, for clinics and wellness. |
| Bold | A violet page and a large title. For events and marketing. |
| Dark | Dark grey with a bright blue button. |
| Editorial | Ivory, serif headings and underlined answers. Elegant and quiet. |
| Blush | Soft pink with a serif title and a pill button. For weddings, beauty or boutiques. |
| Midnight | Deep navy and gold with a serif title. Premium, or for evening events. |
| Forest | Soft green with a serif title. For the outdoors and sustainability. |
- A band across the top: a themed form sits on a band in the theme's colour, with your Logo and Organisation name on it. Upload a Cover image and it becomes the band.
- Label colours: Status questions answered as buttons show each label's own colour from your board, like monday's orange for "Repair", with a tick on the chosen one. The status list shows them too. Turn this off with Show label colours.
- The small things: themed forms say "Required fields are marked with an asterisk *" under the description, and show each question's help text under its answer, so the questions in a row line up.
- Fits where it's placed: on a website (embedded) and in the monday item card, the band is left out.
- A form without a theme looks as it always has.
Every setting
In the order they appear on the Appearance tab:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Layout: One question at a time | One question per screen, with a progress bar. |
| Theme: Theme | A ready-made look to start from. See above. |
| Theme: Generate a theme with AI | AI picks the colours and a font from your logo, which it starts from when the form has one, another image, or a description of the look. This replaces the theme. |
| Brand: Logo | PNG, JPEG, WEBP or SVG, shown at the top of the form, on the band in a theme. |
| Brand: Organisation name | Shown next to the logo, above the form. |
| Brand: Cover image | A wide picture across the top of the form, as the band in a theme. Best at 1600 × 400 px or larger, with the main subject in the middle: wide screens cut the top and bottom, and phones the sides. A picture under 1000 px wide gets a warning, as it may look soft on large screens. |
| Colours: Page background, Button colour | Your brand colours. The button colour is also used for emails and, without a theme, for the line along the top of the form. Text on the button turns white or black, whichever reads better. |
| Colours: Show label colours | Status answers show the colour each label has on the board. |
| Text: Font | Over 100 fonts, including Helvetica / Arial and fonts for Hebrew and Arabic. Type to search. Default (called Device font once you pick a theme) uses each device's own font; themes use Inter. |
| Text: Heading font | A second font for the title and section headings, like Playfair Display. Same as the text uses the main font. |
| Text: Text size | Small, Default or Large, for labels, answers and buttons together. |
| Text: Button text | The words on the send button, like "Send request". |
| Text: Heading alignment | Left or Centre. |
| Text: Reading direction | Left to right, or Right to left for Hebrew, Arabic, Persian and Urdu. |
| Shape: Card style | Card (the form on a panel), Soft (a panel with no edge and a soft shadow) or Flat (no panel). |
| Shape: Corners | Square, Soft or Round, for the panel and the answers. |
| Shape: Answer fields | Outline (a box with a border), Filled (a tinted box) or Underline (a line under the answer). |
| Shape: Button shape | Square, Rounded or Pill. |
Note: Fonts are served by MasterForms, not Google, so respondents' browsers don't contact Google. If a font has no letters for the form's alphabet, the app says which fonts do.
One question at a time
In Form settings → Appearance, under Layout, turn on One question at a time. Each question and text block gets a screen of its own, with a progress bar like "4 of 15". Questions hidden by rules are skipped. It works well on phones and for surveys.
