Document automations: make, email, save and sign automatically
PDF Docs, Invoices + eSignatures · Updated
Short answer
On your board, open Automate, search for PDF Docs, choose a recipe and fill in what it asks for. Recipes make a PDF, email it, save it in Google Drive, or send a contract for signature.
| Recipe | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create a PDF | Makes the document and saves it in a file column |
| Create a PDF and email it | Makes it and emails it as an attachment |
| Create a PDF and email it to the Email column | The same, to the item's Email column |
| Create a PDF and save it in Google Drive | Saves it in a Drive folder |
| Create a PDF and save it in the folder from a Link column | Saves it in the Drive folder linked on the item |
| Send a contract for signature | Makes the document and sends it for signing |
Good to know
- Automations use the same templates as the app.
- Gmail and Google Drive are connected inside the recipe the first time, separately from the app.
- Drive folder links must look like
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/…. - The signature recipe needs as many email addresses as the template has signers, and works with Word signature templates.
- Each document an automation makes counts as one.
Tip: Try a new automation on one item first.
