Install and set up

Before you start

  • You need to be a Jira administrator to install the app from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  • The app has five Jira global permissions. Jira administrators hold all of them; everyone can log their own time. See Permissions.
  • To use the issue panel's time tracking everywhere, set Time Tracker - Timesheets as Jira's time tracking provider. If Jira uses another provider, people can still change time through Jira's built-in time logging.

Install and open the app

  1. In Jira, go to Apps → Explore more apps, search for Time Tracker - Timesheets and install it.
  2. Open it from Apps in the Jira sidebar. My time opens first.
  3. As an admin, open Settings in the app's sidebar and check Basics: which projects and issue types time can be logged on, the week start day and the default working schedule.

Tip: Jira's own admin page for the app only points here. All settings live in Apps → Time Tracker - Timesheets → Settings.
