The PDF template editor opens when you edit a template. On the left are the template's Document sections and its Styles, Template settings and Export properties.
Sections
- A template is a list of sections, such as a Title page, a Table of contents and the content. Drag sections to reorder them, and use + Add section to add more.
- Each section has a Header, Before body, After body and Footer, each switched on or off, with up to three columns. Drag the dividers to change column widths.
- In a section's ••• menu, choose a different first page, different even and odd pages, or different landscape pages.
- Type
/or{to insert a placeholder: page and space details, Page number and Total pages, chapter headings, export date, your brand logo, a table of contents, lists of figures or tables, an index, or another page's content.
Styles
Set how paragraphs, headings, the table of contents, tables, lists and Confluence macros (panels, status, code blocks, Jira issues) look. The preview shows each change.
Template settings
- Template description: shown in the export dialog (up to 140 characters).
- Export default settings: page labels that make this template suggested, and its default scope.
- Page size & orientation: A4, A3, A5, Letter, Legal or a custom size, in portrait or landscape.
- Fonts: body and heading fonts, or your brand fonts. Upload your own TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 fonts with Manage custom fonts….
Export properties
Set the defaults for every export setting, and choose whether people can change each one in the export dialog, see it locked, or not see it at all. Add Export fields (text, date or choice) for values the dialog should ask for, such as a client name or document number.
Tip: Use Preview PDF to see the template with sample content, or Test export to try it on a real page before you save. Neither attaches anything.
