Before you start
- Your Sprout Social account needs the Advanced plan. Sprout only offers its API on that plan.
- The person creating the token needs Sprout's API Permissions. Your Sprout Account Owner can grant it.
- You need to be able to add views to the monday.com board.
Add the app to a board
- Add Sprout Social Integration from the monday.com marketplace.
- On your board, click + next to the board's views, choose Apps, then Sprout Social Integration.
- The first time it opens, press Connect to monday.com and approve in the window that opens. This is done once for your account.
Create an API token in Sprout Social
- In Sprout Social, click your name in the bottom-left corner and choose Account and Settings.
- Under Global Features, choose API. If this is your first time, accept Sprout's API terms.
- In API Token Management, press Generate API Token, give it a name you'll recognise (for example “monday.com”) and copy it.
Tip: Treat the token like a password. Keep it somewhere safe and don't paste it into board items or updates.

Connect the token in monday.com
- In the Sprout Social view, press Configure Sprout API Token. Once you're connected, the same window is under API credentials at the bottom of the menu.
- Paste the token into API bearer token. The eye icon shows or hides it.
- Press Save & connect. The app checks the token with Sprout Social before saving it.
When it works, your Sprout account's name appears at the top of the menu and the dot next to API credentials turns green. The token is saved for your whole monday.com account, so everyone who opens the view sees the same Sprout data. You don't need a customer ID; the app finds it from the token.
Note: If you see “Could not connect to Sprout Social with the provided token”, check you copied the whole token and that it hasn't been revoked in Sprout Social.
