What it costs to keep items on several monday.com boards
By Arnav Ghatage, founder of Fortimus. We make Mirror Item, so check our numbers against the sources below. Prices checked .
Short answer
It depends on how many boards each item is on. Mirror Item counts a shared item once, so 500 items on 3 boards is a 500-item plan at $45 a month. Same Item Multiple Boards (SIMB) uses one item slot per board, so the same 500 items use 1,500 slots, which needs its Pro plan at $79 a month. SIMB costs less when items stay on one or two boards, or once you share thousands of them.

How this is calculated
Both apps sell plans by number of items. The difference is what counts as one. Mirror Item counts a shared item once, however many boards it is on, and has no board limit. SIMB counts the item once for every board it is on, so one item on 3 boards uses 3 of its item slots, and its Free to Business plans also cap how many boards you can use.
The calculator picks the cheapest plan of each app that fits: for Mirror Item, the first plan with at least that many items; for SIMB, the first plan with enough slots for items × boards and a board limit at least that high. Prices are per month with yearly billing.

What about monday.com’s own features?
Connect Boards and mirror columns cost nothing extra, but they show a few values from another board rather than putting the item there: no updates, no subitems, and mirror columns cannot trigger automations. See what mirror columns can and cannot do and every way to have the same item on multiple boards.
Who is this for?
Teams that keep the same work on more than one monday.com board: a project board and each team’s board, an internal and a client board, or every team board and a leadership board. If your items only ever live on one board, you do not need either app.
